Recruited initially as a Product Specialist to strengthen the product engineering interface with operations, and to improve delivery lead times on custom cables. Promoted to Product Manager in 2006, to increase the sales and profitability of Military and Commercial Cable products.Responsible for Identifying and promoting niche business opportunities for light weight electrical cables. Planning and developing product strategies to increase new market penetration and expansion. Estimating product demand, setting pricing policies and establishing the support infrastructure required to sustain a £7 million turnover business. Spearheading new product introductions, managing product life cycle and manufacturing transfers to low cost countries.

Global supplier of class leading electrical distribution and power control equipmentAppointed on previous experience of materials and process development, to improve the productivity and efficiency of the Swindon plant’s moulding and electrical product assembly operations.Responsibe for designing and implementing new assembly line layouts. Approved tooling, materials and equipment selection. Worked with design and quality to ensure all new products were designed for manufacture. Optimising new injection moulding and assembly processes. Costed products and maintained systems and procedures used to support the manufacture of over 1500 products. Established, motivated and managed several continuous improvement teams, to encourage new ideas, promote change and eliminate non value added activities.

Recruited and promoted within a team of multi-skilled Chemists and Engineers, to create novel coatings and protective film products, for new industrial equipment applications.Formulated material compounds, and analysed the performance impact of different additives and material loadings. Re-engineered existing material coatings to reduce production scrap and improve product robustness. Planned, organised and implemented major test programs to evaluate new products. Sought out and forged innovative development alliances with new machinery suppliers. Created new product application manuals, training for customers and presented quarterly project updates to senior management
