Successful track record of utilising a sustainable, ‘multi layered’ approach to security by bridging the public, private and voluntary sectors.Attended the College of Policing Strategic Command Course in Spring 2018; Britain’s most senior Policing leadership development programme.

Responsible for the Public Contact and Specialist Crime portfolio. SRO for Digital Policing, Cyber Crime and Safeguarding programmes.Project lead for the roll out of 2,400 Body Worn Video cameras to frontline officers and consolidation of Niche as our core force operating system. Including the roll out of new Digital Public Contact on-line access and demand management within two major Control Room settings in London and Birmingham.Senior interface between BTP and CPS for the criminal justice portfolio, including file quality and victim support. Chaired both Force Criminal Justice Board and Contact Handling Board, setting vision, tone and work rhythm for BTP.

Several postings across the senior command portfolio including Strategic Development and Analysis, Professional Standards, Divisional (BCU) Command looking after London’s tube network and an 18 month external secondment to Network Rail Operations Executive in order to collaboratively tackle crime reduction and our joint response to disruption on Britain’s rail network.BCU Commander (November 2011- June 2015) for the London Underground and then the wider B Division under our Force Restructure of 2013. Appointed as the inaugural B Divisional Commander with responsibility for 2,300 officers and staff together with delegated budget responsibility of £99million pa.Primary senior operational interface between BTP and strategic collaborative partners such as the Metropolitan Police Service, Transport for London, London Resilience Forum and MOPAC.Accredited Gold and Silver (Cadre) Public Order Commander and led on the initial BTP response to the 2011 London riots. Accredited Strategic Firearms Commander. Significant and regular command experience within Notting Hill Carnival, New Year’s Eve Westminster celebrations and many other major public events in London over several years. Worked as part of the joint Network Rail Gold Command to successfully deliver the Rugby World 2015.

Superintendent on the London Home Counties, Thames Valley and East Anglia area with responsibility for Neighbourhood Policing, Crime and Operations. Silver Commander for multiple public and sporting events across the UK including FA Cup finals at Wembley, Reading Festival, V-Festival, Notting Hill Carnival and London New Year's Eve celebrations. Implemented new Neighbourhood Policing structures and problem solving partnerships into the Division, including project lead for our expansion of 24/7 visible policing under Op Target. Significantly increasing BTP’s frontline policing presence at Stevenage, Southend, Peterborough, Luton, Oxford and Cambridge. Oversaw a further significant uplift of Employer Sponsored Special Constables. Introduced PIER plan concept into BTP in order to protect those who were most vulnerable due to their suicide risk on the rail network.

Proud to have served as a uniformed Neighbourhood Officer, Response Officer and Detective Officer at Divisional (BCU) and Force level departments, before undertaking a three year secondment to the National Crime Squad, working as an armed covert surveillance officer tackling serious organised crime at an international level. This journey started after spending two years as a uniformed Police Constable and thirteen years as a Detective Constable before I was promoted to uniformed Police Superintendent, within a four year period, via the Detective Sergeant, Detective Inspector and Detective Chief Inspector roles. All front line facing, none HPDS or similar schemes (no disrespect to these) but achieved via a proven track record of supporting victims of crime, addressing volume crime issues, dismantling organised criminal networks and investigating major crime incidents, all of which improved public confidence in policing services.Accredited Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) for several murders and serious criminal incidents, leading investigative teams to bring to justice those responsible for such devastating crimes.Senior On Call first responder to major events including multiple homicide, fatal fires, rail crashes, deaths in police custody and fail to stop fatal RTA’s. Bringing some solace to their those impacted by such tragedies and ensuring wider public confidence in our justice system.

Basic training aged 16 years with Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion, Folkestone, Kent then adult service 18 yrs onwards with 1 Platoon, A Company, 3rd Battalion The Light Infantry (Now the Rifles). Service as frontline Infantry Rifleman within peacekeeping roles in Northern Ireland and the former West Germany.
