In 1992 - Orwak was at the forefront of promoting "In house" recycling to the retail/industrial sectors and had developed a broad range of equipment. Started in sales and moved into operations to assist running a busy depot with 14 drives. Re-routed vehicles to increase route density/efficiency of collections, Introduced waste compaction equipment to clients, as reduced their operational costs and made trucks more efficient, more waste per collection. Saw that the recycling industry was starting to grow and was the best way forward and sought an opportunity to enter this market

I was offered 3 jobs in one day and the person who interviewed me ended the interview saying "waste is endless", which stuck in my mind and I subsequently accepted the job. Started in Bristol selling skip/trade/roll on off services and at the time Biffa owned a Waste Compactor manufacturer, I visited the factory and was taught about the merits of waste compaction, reduce volume, reduce lifts, reduce transport.
