I agreed initial inputs with Senior Responsible Officers and using a collegiate approach to gain the endorsement of the MOD investment chain.I authored a refresh of Defence’s Digital Strategy in 2023 at the planned two-year point. Directly engaging with Defence's Digital Leadership - 17 CIOs across Defence - to ensure that the refresh addressed changes in strategic context, and analysis of significant progress.

    I led the UK's Coalition Interoperability, Assurance, Validation and Verification Laboratory to prove and assure operational information and exemplar data sets with 23 similar Allied facilities. I managed the spare capacity in the £5.2m interoperability budget to provide best results for Defence. As a linked activity I was the UK's Deputy National Lead for Federated Mission Networking (FMN), NATO's premier 'Day Zero' interoperability initiative - incorporating the UK's operational requirements into future development spirals. I also led the Tiger Team to create the Defence Digital Operations Headquarters. Analysed existing organisation and information flows, identified alternative courses of action to create a more effective organisation to better understand and control the Defence’s IT systems.In the latter part of this appointment I was detached to the UKStratCom Strategy Team preparing for the Government Integrated Review. I drafted and incorporated the UKStratCom Digital contribution into the overall departmental submission.

    I was lead for planning and delivering information and data solutions to Defence's extremely high readiness deployable headquarters for pre-planned crisis response operations around the globe.I developed the first written Concept of Operations for Joint Force Headquarters, Defence's crisis response organisation. This provided the basis for an improved lightweight, rapidly deployable HQ. reducing airlift requirement by 80%.I conducted innovation exercises to identify alternative ways to provide the information and data needed by the HQ and associated 8-person Operational Liaison Reconnaissance Teams (OLRT). I worked closely with industry to provide assured secure alternatives to Defence’s "big green boxes" which "functioned as designed but weren't fit for function."As part of JFHQ I led the IT planning and implementation, for the 2,000 strong Task Force across the Caribbean, on Op RUMAN following Hurricane Irma in 2017. Led an OLRT to Dominica, identifying, finding and evacuating 84 British nationals.

    I was part of the team enacting the "Army 2020" - the exercise to remodel and reshape the British Army to meet the needs of nation. We examined and optimised the structures and equipment holdings of all Royal Signals and Intelligence Corps Regiments within the Army.As part of of this activity, I project managed the return of a sub-unit from joureny that had been omitted from all financial, real estate and manning planning during "Army 2020." Within 6 months there wa sclear route and they were included in future plans.
