I have been in the gas industry for the past 30 years, starting off as an apprentice, working my way up to service Layer, Main Layer, then team leader in my own right. I then moved onto specialising in large diameter, mainly working on various high-profile jobs in central London which was very challenging which is something I enjoy I have since over the last five years moved into management where I have gained my CP and AE status up to 12 inch and 355MM, and currently working towards 12 inch and above CP status.I’ve also gained my NRWSA supervisors qualification and I’ve gained my TWS and I’m currently working towards my TWC qualification. I have also gained SCO 1-2-4-5.I find the industry has changed for the better over the last 30 years with safety at the forefront which I am very passionate about. I like to pass on my vast experience to all the young people coming into the game who are the future of the industry, while still gaining more knowledge, myself from other people in the industry which is really important specially with the skills shortage. Outside of work, I like to relax and spending time with my family my two daughters are dance mad spend all their free time in competitions up and down the country even abroad which is something I admire about them. My son is football crazy and if he’s not playing it is talking about it and I also spend majority of my weekend watching him play, and have also taken up coaching and working towards gaining my Level 1 coaching badge.We also spend every 2nd weekend at the karting track were my son races in the inkart championship.I also like to relax with watching rugby and meeting friends.
