Inpatient Rehabilitation Aide
Happy Valley, Oregon, United States
As the Inpatient Rehabilitation aide at Kaiser Permanente's Sunnyside Campus I assisted with patient care along side acute care medical professionals. As the Inpatient aide I was a jack of all trades. In this role I was responsible for various office practices. I was also responsible for taking notes during staff and union meetings. I scheduled these meetings using Meeting Room Manager and prepared the rooms with all necessary materials. I was tasked with ensuring that patient notes after rehabilitation sessions were accurate and finished in a timely manner. This consisted of proof reading complex medical documents for accuracy several times a day. After proofreading and writing patient notes, I would then file these records electronically. I was also asked to create custom presentations. These presentations explained the proper use of new and current medical equipment, cleaning procedures, and maintenance. I also regularly maintained a large report, covering daily therapy productivity numbers for the Inpatient Rehabilitation team. Along with these administrative tasks I was solely responsible for the purchasing and procurement of all office supplies, medical materials/equipment and Personal Protective equipment inventory. If you needed to find something around the hospital I was your go to person. Working along side three different medical disciplines allowed me to view patient care and public health in numerous arenas. As the Inpatient Rehabilitation Aide I assisted with the treatment of bariatric, geriatric, and pediatric patients as well as patients suffering from neurological deficits and amputation complications.
