My expertise is in public policy and public-sector management. I am currently developing and applying approaches to regulatory stewardship across MBIE and related Crown entities. Previously, I supported clients in aligning their expenditure with government priorities, and help them develop the organisational form and capability necessary to keep it aligned.By leading analysis and ensuring that the requirements of Cabinet decision-making processes are met, I enable my clients to make robust critical decisions.I have provided thought leadership for major policy reforms in areas such as welfare, social housing and accident compensation. I help organisations develop effective arrangements to implement regulatory policy. I am an experienced policy and project manager.Examples of my consulting work include:- reviewing the governance arrangements for 3 waters asset management- developing the underlying principles of the investment approach to welfare reform and work on the application of social investment principles-value for money reviews of the Civil Aviation Authority and the Electricity System Operator (Transpower)- business cases for the refugee settlement strategy and the extension of the Growing Up in New Zealand longitudinal study- the review of the machinery of government for managing the Crown Mineral Estate, which led to the establishment of New Zealand Petroleum and Minerals.
