Leadership role guiding the IT team in the support and delivery of information technology for African business units. The role is tasked with developing regional strategies and has a strong customer focus in all components of the operation of IT, so as to ensure its ongoing success, support and high level quality of services delivery in compliance with Rio Tinto standards. Focus is on liaisons with the management of all business units in the region to understand their individual strategies and to formulate appropriate IT responses which deliver value to business unit at a competitive cost. Participate in business unit steering and strategy committees. Service delivery, infrastructure and support structures are then managed to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction. Supplementary role as Director of Rio Tinto Management Services, a regional shared service entity offering support to all Africa based business units (Functions cover Procurement, HR, IT, Legal, Tax, Communities & External relations).

Leadership role guiding the Business Solution Centre tasked with deploying a single instance of SAP to all EMEA business units. This involved managing virtual teams across the region, promoting IS&T alignment and fostering collaboration across business units. Management of appropriate resourcing, implementing organization change, implementation of the Business Process Outsourcing strategy, setting post implementation objectives and benefit deliverables while ensuring compliance with all safety standards and guidelines.
