In my role as a mortgage processor, I utilized my thirteen years of consumer credit experience to not only process income and review documentation quickly and accurately, but also to be able to educate our consumers on the reasoning behind what can feel like an endless parade of digital documentation. A Mortgage can be a lonely and daunting process at times, and my decade-plus of face-to-face financial service skills helped me illuminate the path ahead and provide a level of reassurance and comfort. As an INFP-Mediator personality type I was able to engage the different personality types of the various loan officers and underwriters. Even though my MLO licensing was dormant because of a product pivot from my prior employer, I found the knowledge that I had of both the NH and MA mortgage had remained fresh- allowing me key insight, and foresight as to what to address directly, and what would need clarification for the underwriters cutting down the behind the scenes back and forth.I leveraged my desktop support background during the transformation from a semi-paper file system over to fully digital, digitizing our checklists and making them interactive. I interpreted Desktop Underwriter’s requirements, requested the necessary paperwork and calculated income manually, all to Fannie Mae guidelines. I primarily handed refinances of both existing and new borrowers, with a range of products, both with secondary market prospects as well as local portfolio.Overall, my time was spent advocating for the customer, while maintaining the highest standards of service and accuracy. Every loan is different, every customer unique, adaptability and agility are key.
