Manage Solution Development and Deployment• Lead development and delivery of IT solutions as required by DSTO and defence stakeholders. This involves consultation and development of requirements with stakeholders, evaluating options, developing specifications, creating a prototype and then managing the construction, deployment and support of the solution taking into account existing and future organisation IT capabilities.• Some solutions developed include: o Integrated Simulation Suite for experimentation and analysis.o Web based tools for use in war gaming, workshops and seminars.o Private Compute, Storage and Network infrastructure used by stakeholders for Navy experiments, modelling and simulations, web hosting, application development, data storage, analysis and trialling new software.o Design, Build and manage Data storage and analysis capabilities including Relational, NoSQL and Big Data. Enabled Data warehousing, analysis and Business Intelligence capabilities.o Designed and Manage the DSTO Concept Exploration and Analysis Laboratory used for National Defence Experiments, workshops, analysis as well as international activities.o Bespoke Application Development for defence scientists – multiple short turnaround prototypes either developed in-house or with contractors (typically 3-6 month turnaround).• Undertake research into new IT technologies and how they could be used by DSTO to enhance the enterprises effectiveness (Cloud Computing, SOA, Big Data, DevOps and ESB).• Manage the research IT architecture at DSTO Sydney, including designing, installing, integrating and administration of hardware, software and systems. • Manage System Administration - Linux, Windows, Database (SQL Server, MongoDB), VMWare. • Manage Software Development tools and processes. Based around Test Driven Development, Agile and DevOps utilising Atlassian tools. • Manage IT Contracts and procurement - Hardware and Software.

Developed software for the Windows platform.• Worked with a team developing the builder component of Unisys’s Enterprise Application Environment, a suite of computer-based tools to help build and deploy transaction-intensive, enterprise-class information systems. The builder component generated into code the business logic developed in the modeller component for the selected target environment (Unisys MCP, .Net or Java).
