Key Responsibilities:● Accountable for the recruitment, training and direct management of talented young musicians from universities, schools and civilian bands, maximised productivity through ongoing performance monitoring and review● Served as the Principal Percussionist and Cellist of the Band of the Lifeguards as well as sitting as Principal Cellist of the Household Division Symphony Orchestra.● Planned and prepared lessons to support Percussionists to achieve their trade examinations to diploma performance standard (Trinity College of Music & ABRSM)● Provided extensive training to musicians to ride and perform on the Drum Horse for State and ceremonial parades and a display team called the Musical Ride, for the Household Cavalry● Achieved financial objectives by managing the Band accounts such as managing paid engagements and subsistence, property, insurance, VAT, breakdown of all funds and all P&L’s● Enhanced awareness of the band and events by creating and executing marketing initiatives and continuous updating of Social Media● Served as Assistant to the Bandmaster tasked with overseeing all MATTs (Military Army Training Tests) Values & Standards, Fitness, Weapon handling and live firing, Medical First Aid, Health & Safety and CBRN● Designed and delivered Army lessons and training of TEQ (equivalent to the Trinity College of Music) army music exams● On the Drum horse, performed on State and ceremonial parades and major public events including Queen’s Birthday Parade (Trooping the Colour), Beating the Retreat (Horse Guards Parade London), Basel Tattoo (Switzerland), Olympics 2012 and HRH Queen Elizabeth II Silver & Golden Jubilee ● Played within the following venues: Buckingham Palace, St James Palace, Windsor Castle, The Guildhall, Mansion House, Blenheim Palace, the Royal Albert Hall● Toured the UK and overseas, including America, Canada, Dubai, Nigeria, Bosnia, Europe, New Zealand and South Korea
