Providing technical, operational, and functional support for the United States Army’s Live, Virtual, and Constructive Integrating Architecture (LVC-IA) at the National Simulation Center, Fort Leavenworth.Lead and manage a team using LVC-IA and Gaming tools and applications contained within the Army's Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC), Army's Games for Training (GFT) and individual virtual simulators within the TRADOC Capability Manager - Integrated Training Environments' (TCM-ITE) suite to support the US Army client Support institutional training using these systems.As needed: develop and tailor scenarios to support the training; train personnel as operators and administrators of JLCCTC systems; and provide games for training general support for all gaming applications and services. Perform installation, operation, maintenance, configuration management, and interoperability between gaming applications, such as ALOTT, DXTRS, and ERF and Army Mission Command Systems (MCS) interfaces, including CPOF, JCR, FBCB2, JBC-P, BCS, TBCS, AFATDS, S2MC, or AMDWS.

Typically a GS 11-13 equivalent, and most closely linked to Civilian Program 36 (CP-36) Modeling and Simulations Civilian Career Program. The military version of this position would be the Functional Area 57 (FA-57) Simulation Operations Battle Command Officer. Team leaders are usually responsible for managing day-to-day operations of a particular work unit and carrying out directives from higher management levels. Work is characterized by work unit planning of both a technical and managerial nature, i.e., overseeing the work, providing guidance to technical experts, and accomplishing limited budgeting and personnel management functions.

Instructor for the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical System (AFATDS), Command Post of the Future (CPOF), and qualified to perform over the shoulder instruction for the Tactical Airspace Integration System (TAIS). Information Systems Operator Training Teams (ISOTT) assist Unit Commanders, Battalion and above, in operator and leader information systems training as well as systems support to enable integration into a digital command and control architecture for full spectrum operations in a joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational environment.

DCC PlannerSupervise, coordinate and direct DCC staff planning, disaster information integration, intelligence collection, intelligence dissemination, and reporting. Ensure all intelligence reports, briefings and products adhere to organizational message and provide situational awareness. Handle quality assurance and control of all DCC published products. Supports IAA (Incident Awareness and Assessment) planning for Vigilant Guard and other domestic exercises, and provide integration support on various G3 projects. Assist with force packaging during exercises or domestic all-hazards events. DCC Liaison OfficerServed as command’s representative to other governmental agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and the private sector, and provide input on unit’s policies, resource capabilities, and other matters. Serve as subject matter expert on the DCC’s organization and operations. Monitored recovery of equipment and sensitive items, and reviewed historical data files to ensure all journals from liaison team were included. Briefed Current Operations Branch Chief or designated representative on mission-related liaison activities and prepared AAR/written report. Developed lessons learned and consolidated comments for future training and SOP development.

Full Spectrum Exercise (FSX) Project OfficerCoordinated several echelons of ABCS equipment, in addition to identifying equipment shortages and requesting shortage fills. Created combined SA/DP (System Architecture and Data Product), and worked with MTC, MCTP, and 1st Army to organize C4I elements. Identified TOC layout plans for military elements participating in exercises. Ensure availability of SICPS (Standard Integrated Command Post Systems) and PDISE (Power Distribution Illumination Systems, Electrical) equipment. Requested Field Support Representatives for all elements. Planned and participated in four International and Interagency Military Exercises leading up to the Full Spectrum Exercise in September 2011.Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS) Coordination OfficerSupervised coordination of fielding and upgrade of ABCS equipment. Ensured correct implementation of data products and system architecture, and all Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patches were installed and up to date. Scheduled Field Support Representatives and Training Support Assets for unit training events.

Multiple short duration orders for operational support of the Kansas National Guard. Primary and final order set for Military Funeral Honors (OIC). Performed 180+ burials of our finest soldiers, all have served from WWII to Present. Additional Orders worthy of mention, Investigating Officer for the 2-130th Field Artillery, Hiawatha, Kansas.

Force Protection Subject Matter Expert (SME) for access, badging, and policies research and analysis. Ensures that new Force Protection FRAGOs and policies are nested with legacy products for smooth acceptance and transition. Assists in the development of bi-weekly Force Protection Policy meetings, produce a meeting minutes for distribution, and tracks attendance of Contractor Companies. Filter reports from eleven Area Defense Operations Centers (ADOCs), Sather Air Base Blotter, and Military Police Blotters for relevant entries in the Force Protection Blotter. Prepared a daily morning FRAGO brief for the Force Protection Staff to inform office members of changes to policy. Site visits for inside and outside battle space to evaluate layered defense (defense in depth) policies and propose improvements for entry control points, internal checkpoints, and defensive positions. Negotiated a contract for internet services in theater, installed satellite access points, installed data bridge with approximately one kilometer distance, and wireless and Ethernet access points.

The Officer Basic Course (OBC) starts an officer on the career path of professional military development. During OBC, officers first learn skills common to all Army officers. The final part of OBC covers specific technical and tactical skills associated with each specialty or branch.Participants then learn the skills necessary to train and lead other soldiers. In their first assignment as platoon leaders, they will each be responsible for developing, training, and leading 16 to 45 soldiers as a unit that can effectively operate in a tactical combat environment with full mastery of their weapon systems.

The Army's Officer Candidate School is programmed to teach basic leadership and Soldier tasks, using the Infantry battle drills found in Army Field Manual 3–21.8 as a framework for instruction and evaluation of leadership potential. A total of 71 tasks are taught and tested while at OCS. A candidate should expect to be under constant observation and evaluation by their cadre. Mental and emotional stress is induced through a variety of controlled methods, to test problem solving and moral resolve. Additionally, the course is meant to be physically demanding, with numerous tactical road marches, timed runs of varying distance from 2 miles to 5 miles, and Army Combative training.
