I am in a systems, network and sometimes desktop infrastructure role primarily focused on Windows server environments but with some Linux components. I have; Administered and upgraded a digital radio network. Built and maintained VCenter infrastructure. Managed IBM V7000 and V5000 SANs.Built and maintained backup infrastructure, previously Storagecraft then implemented Veeam with NFS storage on Storagecraft Oneblox appliance cluster. Looked after hybrid on premise Exchange/365 environment. Maintained and upgraded SCCM and worked on replacement with ManageEngine Desktop Central. Implemented and maintained Sophos Central MDM solution for mobile phone management. Implemented and managed WSUS for server patching.Configured and installed Allied Telesis switches and routers.Configured and installed Ubiquiti Edgeswitches and Edgerouters. Completed standard user and computer management tasks with on premise and Azure AD.Implemented Liquidfiles large files sharing solution. (Linux virtual appliance)Many more!

Build and administer both Linux (Ubuntu and Virtual appliances based on other versions such as CentOS) and WIndows servers( 2003 to 2012). Backups using EMC Networker. Servers Mainly IBM blade servers in H series Bladecenters. Managed change from HP rack servers to the current platform. Managed transition from physical servers to Virtual Iron as a virtual platform then from Virtual Iron to VMWare. Administer SANs. Originally IBM DS3400s and then transition to IBM XIV. Administer Fortigate Firewalls and Allied Telesys switched network as well as remote sites connected via fibre, ADSL, and radio links. Manage Mobile platform use including testing and advising on new phone models suitability for use with council systems. Documenting processes and procedures. Initiated and manage formal change control meetings along ITIL lines.

Started as sole charge IT support and systems/network administrator but as the role grew I moved out of the 1st level support component to concentrate more on the systems and network support side. Managed backups and our Citrix platform as well as desktop deployment from Waiouru through to the South Island for the many sites Serco had contracts at. Serco NZ operations were sold to Transfield Australia part way though my term there and my role continued despite the center of operations transferring to Auckland/Sydney. It was the shrinking of the responsibilities of my role which led to my seeking alternative employment.
