I am responsible for the Safe Operations of all the business segments of the Companies and its UK sites, ensuring the awareness and training of all its personnel is maintained to the highest level starting with the induction process. I am also responsible for ensuring that all segments comply with current EHS Legislation. I manage the effective running of the safety committees at each site, publishing minutes and making recommendations to the board for both corrective and preventative actions as required whilst ensuring that Risk Assessments are carried out and routinely reviewed. I coordinate the Health and Safety training through the businesses bespoke interactive training program for all its employees, complete numerous reports for presentation to the board and keeping abreast of changes to Legislation. My key focus points are to routinely audit and generate Health and Safety improvement plans and KPI’s within the Business , provide training for employees to conduct induction and related refresher courses for the main body of the workforce numbering circa 180 people. I have set up a core improvement team and have jointly reduced accident rates across all sites year on year, this has had the effect of reduced liability claims and generally resulted in improved management and workforce relations. The impact of this has been an increase in the motivation and enthusiasm for safety committee meetings which in turn has increased Health and Safety awareness amongst employees. I have also been driving the implementation of a Business Continuity Plan for the Company.
