I'm a practice associate professor (i.e., a teaching professor) at the University of Pennsylvania where I teach psychology and research capstone courses in the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics program (PPE) and conduct research with the Center for Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics. I received my PhD in social psychology from Boston College in May 2023. Prior to graduate school, I studied psychology and anthropology at Skidmore College and worked as a behavioral research fellow at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. My academic research explores the cognitive processes that underlie cooperation and collective action. Specifically, my work investigates how social norms influence behavior, the cognitive abilities that support collective action, and why we're motivated to punish others. My work draws on insights and approaches from social and developmental psychology, behavioral economics, cognitive science, and evolutionary game theory. I'm particularly interested in applying insights from behavioral science to inform practices in industry and public policy.
