Paul Devine is the owner/operator of Devine Design Hardscapes and has been in the Landscape industry since 2001. He worked for a company that did general landscaping while taking law classes after graduating RHS Class of 98. He quickly discovered that he had a knack for design, loved to be outdoors and had an entrepreneurial spirit that led him to start his own business in the landscape industry.In 2006, Devine Landscaping installed the 2nd permeable paver driveway in the state of MN. The project was highlighted by Washington County as a best practice for water management and the case study to evaluate effectiveness is ongoing. This project inspired Paul to get more involved in water management and green industry technology. It also triggered a desire to work exclusively with hardscape features.Paul started a position with Versa-Lok Retaining Walls and Willow Creek Paving Stones as a Product/Sales Representative in 2007. The position involved helping established contractors bid large commercial projects and training newer guys to properly install Retaining walls and pavers. This opportunity also allowed Paul to present hardscape diy seminars throughout Minnesota and the Midwest in a classroom format. In 2009 Paul started Devine Design Hardscapes with the idea that his only focus would be on providing the highest level of hardscape design and installation. Since then, retaining wall and paver projects designed by Paul have been featured in Hardscape Manufacturer's catalogs and magazines.He was the 2015 Versa-Lok Design contest winner for the category of "Retaining Walls over 1000 square feet" and was featured on the cover of Erosion Control Monthly. Paul employs technology to stay on the cutting edge of industry trends by using UAV Drones to capture video and pictures of featured projects. All of Devine Design’s projects are designed on Sketch Up and have been for 7 years. He was one of the first to employ this software for hardscape design in this market.
