Intrepid Advisors is a specialized business advisory firm offering expertise and consulting services relating to federal and state Research & Development.

In this new role, was responsible for gathering input thru customer relations, and from Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments for improvements, and developing these into a useful end product.• Incorporated Lean Manufacturing methods to develop more cost efficient manufacturing for all product lines which reduced cost by 15% on selected products.• Based on input from all departments, designed an Impactor for use in Chinese power plants. While working closely with Manufacturing, determined best methods from in-house shop and external suppliers. Delivered final design which increased capacity by 20% at a cost increase of only 5%. • Conducted field research to gather input from customers to develop and implement changes to machines which greatly improved customer satisfaction.

Based on previous experience in Sales and Engineering, became a Project Manager. In this expanded role, developed and maintained standard design procedures for top product lines. All machines are now designed based on these standards. Performed field service for installation, start up, and troubleshooting of virtually every type of machine made by PCC. Acted as the lead engineer on our large projects.• During an expansion period in oil sands production used to make crude oil, developed, tested, and rolled out a machine for Syncrude (a division of Sunoco) to better separate bitumen from sand used to make crude oil resulting in the sale of units at approximately $500K each. These units were developed while working with their engineers in testing, to increase bitumen recovery per ton mined. The initial expansion of the site increased crude oil production from 73.5 million barrels to 81 million barrels per year. In the next expansion, additional units were sold to Sunoco, this expansion increased crude oil production by over 36 million barrels per year. In addition, because of the abrasive nature of oil sands, these machines have generated millions of dollars in parts orders. Additional units have since been put into production by Exxon-Mobil at their site, also in Alberta.• Designed the first Rod Mills built by PCC which are used in fluid bed combustion power plants, at a cost of over $1 million each. Because of their complexity, spent weeks on site in a remote area of China installing a unit used in the first fluid bed power plant ever built in China. This involved handling the complete project as the only liaison on site using the local labor force.

Assigned to the Sales department to develop additional insight into our customers’ needs. Worked on the application and sales of new machinery for material reduction of coal and aggregate. • Conducted sales calls to potential customers. • Created Sales quotations for all of our product lines for various customers.

Designed and expanded the product lines as required by marketing. Performed stress analysis of critical components of the machinery to assure safety of operation.
