Following the appointment of a new Chief Information Officer (CIO), I was asked to lead and mature a team that consisted of twenty five internal staff and contractors, split into three areas.- Business Architecture, where we engaged senior business leaders to capture their future (5-10 year) ICT needs within Capability maps aligned to the CIO Enterprise Architecture strategy.- Business Analysis, where we captured high-level ICT commissioning requirements from senior business leaders, which were taken to the ICT Governance Board on behalf of the customer and then, within the scoping phase of ICT projects, we captured low level, technical, functional and non-functional requirements.- Functional Consultancy, where we provide day-to-day support and development of critical ICT services, which include Oracle and Siebel and recently successfully deployed Oracle R12 and Primavera P6.Additionally, I was asked to take on the role of CIO Lead Resource Manager, to mature the processes and tools we used to effectively and efficiently resource our teams within the CIO function.

My role was to oversee strategic and tactical support and stimulate development of the services the IT Operations Bridge team provided, which included building the team and recruiting appropriately experienced individuals whilst enabling them to extend their skills through internal and external training to provide day-to-day, Incident and Major Incident, Problem Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Account Management and Service and Infrastructure monitoring.Through tough contract negotiations with service providers, I sourced components of these services where appropriate to diversify the team and extend the services provided on behalf of the CIO organisation to the customer base.In Aug-10 I was promoted in-role and in Nov-10 took accountability and ownership of IT Business Continuity, leading this function for the entire CIO organisation, and ran a number of successful exercises including the relocation of the IT Service Desk over a five day period without loss of service to our customer base.Latterly I took accountability for the Account Management and Incident Management team’s, which were sourced via our onsite service provider. I ensured SLAs and KPIs were met on a day-to-day basis via monthly service reviews and where not, appropriate service improvement activities were put in place to rectify.I had three direct reports, with a further three reporting to them in a task managed capacity. In addition, I utilised around twenty resources from our sourcing service provider to deliver the above services in a multi-sourced environment to 10,000 customers across two sites and three ‘air gapped’ MoD security classified networks.
