Paul is the Director of Simulation-based Learning in the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. He specialises in immersive virtual scenario creation and XR technologies and holds an M.A. in Creative Media Practice. He is an award-winning educational materials writer, a teacher trainer, children’s book illustrator and a graphic designer. Paul's current research interests span several fields, exploring immersive technology, applied game design, generative AI, embodied cognition, and pedagogic theory.Paul is a regular keynote speaker at national and international education events, including IATEFL, The Image Conference and Digital ELT Ireland. In 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 he was nominated for English Language Teaching Innovation Awards (ELTons) in the category of Digital Innovation.In 2018, Paul won the prestigious Association for Learning Technology (ALT) Individual Learning Technologist of the Year Award for his innovative work with virtual reality in education, mental health, social care and nursing.
