The highly skilled science and support staff based in Cambridge, Antarctica, and the Arctic, work together to deliver research that uses the Polar Regions to advance our understanding of planet Earth.As Head of Facilities I provide leadership, strategic vision and management of BAS UK FM, UK Projects, and Supply chain logistical services. Responsible for the effective delivery of first class BAS service support. I am an innovative thinker, first class communicator who demonstrates excellent leadership qualities. I actively encourage a positive approach to change management. Driving the FM and BAS supply chain net zero mission and creative practices.

WO1s are the senior advisors of their unit's Commanding Officer, with leadership, discipline and welfare responsibilities of up to 650 officers and soldiers.

As one of the senior Warrant Officers I deliver a range of logistical and facilities support. Enabling an expeditionary Infantry Battle Group to operate in all environments. As well as providing Hard and Soft FM services within the home barracks. This ranges from facilities maintenance to managing and establishing large forward operating bases. This is done concurrently to managing a plethora of budgets and accounts. For example. ammunition, operational clothing and various high value weapons and assets. Delivering capability and resources to the mission through land, sea and air operations. Selected for Warrant Officer Class 1 and appointed to the prestigious position of Regimental Sergeant Major.

Nurtured and led soldiers through demanding war-fighting tours, including kinetic operations against enemy forces. Mentored up to 120 service personnel on operations in the UK and overseas. Showing stability and leadership in extremis. Providing a high level of instructional and teaching based skills to the wider Armed Forces. The Company Sergeant Major is the confidant to the Officer Commanding and a sound mentor to the Subalterns and Captains. Therefore, ensuring high levels of morale and discipline to the most important people - the other ranks.

After a gruelling, but successful selection process taken from the top cohort of Senior Sergeants in the Army. I taught, mentored and nurtured British Army and International Officer Cadets through the demanding commissioning course.I ensured they were correctly prepared to lead in all circumstances on commissioning into the British Army and Allied Forces. Infantry soldiers are trained to be ready for any challenge. Ready to operate alongside allies in adverse climates, from desert to jungle. Ready to protect the nation, prevent conflict, fight the nation's enemies and deal with disaster at home or overseas. Served in a section as a Machine Gunner. Later leading a fire team and section as a junior commander.
