Engineering and construction manager for mill wide upgrades including the Gen bank rebuild including mud and steam drums on the #6 Recovery Boiler. Changing the Bleach Plant from Chlorine-to-Chlorine Dioxide which required a new up flow bleaching tower, converting existing Chlorine plant to a new CLO2 plant. Also installed a completely new wastewater treatment plant including 3 water pumps to pump the waist water from the clarifiers to a new cooling tower, 2 holding lagoons, a new aeration lagoon – air bubbles vs. aerators and a outlet holding lagoons to the new river discharge diffuser.

Project manager for a machine rebuild to change from a seven ply headbox to a new three-ply dilution control headbox with three new stock systems, chemical systems, tail, threading system, rotary dryer siphons, dry can grinding, coater dryer upgrades, groundwood capacity increase. Also changed from a DC drive to all new AC drives including about 1⁄2 using new permanent magnate motors – the first in the company. Responsible for final project development, all engineering, procurement, accounting/cost control, construction, check out commissioning startup. Value in 2003 US$97 million.
