I have retired from IKAV and BP. I was fortunate to have a 33+ year career doing engineering work that I absolutely loved, and worked with multitudes of people who made the journey both stimulating and rewarding. In the process, I believe I provided multitudes of value to my employers beyond the payments they made for my service. The ultimate win win.Point forward, I would like to put myself in the position of a freelance expertise service provider. Sharing the knowledge and expertise I gained with those willing to receive and have open meaningful discussion.One particular area of interest I was working at the time of retirement was the manner of an optimal way to produce new high rate gas wells upon completion. Gas wells that come on at a high rate (>1000 mcfd) and exhibit a rather steep decline over the course of several years before stabilizing at a moderate decline thereafter. During the early years, designing these wells to flow on their own with engineered tubing designs and surface controls to use critical velocity to the operators advantage and minimize rig events to achieve better economics. In fact, this doesn't need to be just for new wells but any high rate gas well in need of optimization. Bringing modern control technology using real time production data to the oil field to achieve managed automated efficient production. Bridging the oil and gas industry to high intensity data managed systems.Through the course of my career, I developed several areas of expertise:Completion designs for newly drilled wells. Fracture stimulation design. Artificial lift design. Multi-lateral horizontal well design to coexist with the ability to produce via artificial lift. Flowing gas well designs to mimimize operating expense while the well has the ability to flow on its own.Downhole artificial lift designs for efficient production. Beam lift, progressive cavity pumps, ESP.Flowing gas well tubing designs. Combining the science of multiphase flow and critical velocity to tubing designs in order to achieve sustained flowing operations for extended periods of time with reduced lifting and operating costs.Field production management (working with mulit-disciplines). Managing field aerial well density, production designs, and surface facility designs over a geographical area to optimize both downhole spacial drainage and the economics of field production.Produced water disposal well downhole management. Including well design, rig operations, regulatory compliance, and working with regulatory agencies.
