Hales Freight started in business In Liverpool in 1975. Walter Hale, and his five sons saw that the tomatoes & cucumbers that they sent to Ireland were very slow in getting to their destination, and that in the interest of their customers they’d better take control of the way they were being shipped. So in May of ‘75, Hales Freight began shipping their own trailers with their own drivers directly into Dublin, which then delivered direct to the customer the next day. This was unheard of in the mid 70’s, and because of the speed and reliability of this new service and because of demands from other companies in the general industrial and service industries Hales Freight quickly expanded the service to shipping all kinds of general cargo that was needed in a hurry or next day. By 1980 Hales Freight was recognised as a first class groupage operator offering their customers a 24 next day or a 48 hr 2 day groupage service that was totally reliable and cost effective. A consistent year on year growth has seen the company open depots in Liverpool, Birmingham and London.Fast forward to 2008, Hales Freight moved it’s headquarters from Dublin’s North Wall, to a brand new 35,000 sq ft builiding on 2.2 acres in the Northwest Business Park Ballycoolin Dublin 15.Hales Freight is a wholy owned Irish Company operating an overnight groupage & Full load service to and from the U.K. Hales Freight are in business for 34 years because one thing has remained constant: “We are committed to giving you our customer the very best service at the very best price”.
