Owner operators are responsible for safely driving large cargo trucks over long distances while adhering to all traffic laws and U.S. DOT Regulation. They are also involved with loading and unloading cargo, planning routes, interacting with dispatchers and logging all trucking activities. Drivers monitor wear and tear and maintain their equipment to ensure optimum functionality. Owner operators must perform business-related duties as well, establishing a solid pipeline of work to maximize profitability. Other business duties include accounting responsibilities, such as submitting tax information and calculating fixed and variable business expenses to determine net income.

Working/Driving in all weather conditions. Follow and apply all safety and procedural policies. Performing all necessary testing procedures adhering to API (American Petroleum Institute) standards to purchase oil(operating centrifuge, thief strap tank in proper order, perform math calculations, etc) and preparing impeccable requisite paperwork for each load. Completing and submitting in a timely manner all required load paper work and company paperwork. Some lifting and pushing/pulling required. Physical ability to climb stairs multiple times per shift required. Install and remove tire chains as needed due to changing weather conditions. And some maintenance on semi-truck.

Measures crude oil in accordance with GLPT measurement policy at the lease. Performs field measurement duties; tank level measurement by gauge line, S&W determination by sampling, sample analysis, and custody transfer documentation (ticketing).Drives trucks that transports crude oil from the lease to the unload station. Unloads crude oil at the appropriate station in accordance with established operations and safety procedures. Performs routine maintenance and inspections to assigned vehicle and equipment. Complies with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and GLPT company vehicle policies.Maintains current CDL and Medical Exam card. Complete and turn in paperwork in at timely manor as required by GLPT.Properly represent company to customers and general public. The primary function of this position is to drive a commercial motor vehicle; load and deliver petroleum products in an environmentally safe manner and complete all paperwork on a daily basis. This position will adhere to all local, state and federal laws governing the operation of a commercial motor vehicle. The position will drive and off-load (all product is pumped off) in inclement weather, on small sometimes very tight loading and unloading locations and is required to drive on unpaved and unimproved roads to make deliveries.
