I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and have held several senior roles working on complex construction and engineering projects. I specialise in provision of effective contract and commercial management and dispute resolution services, have an in-depth knowledge of claims management and matters relating to claims for additional payment, extension of time and insurance and warranty claims. Always mindful of my client’s requirements and to act in accordance with the contract provisions and in the best interests of my client. With over 30 years’ experience of commercial, contract and claim administration, dispute resolution and procurement, I have used my particular skills and experience on a wide range of different construction and engineering projects, both in the UK and overseas. Whilst the past 13 years have been devoted to UK offshore wind farm projects, prior to that I used my skills and experience on projects for energy from waste, engineering process works, oil, gas and petrochemical works, infrastructure, building and civil engineering works. I have a broad knowledge of many different types of standard and bespoke forms of contract including FIDIC, BIMCO, LOGIC, NEC3, IChemE Red Book, JCT, GC Works and many different bespoke forms of contract. I also possess excellent analytical and writing skills, apply thorough attention to detail and am particularly adept in administering contractual and commercial relationships, and effective monitoring, assessment and management of claims and risks, including defence and formulation of contractual claims and settlement via negotiation or escalation to formal and informal dispute resolution processes.
