I am an experienced clinical haematologist and medical oncologist with over 35 years’ experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of malignant disease and stem cell transplantation. In 1998, I co-founded The Wesley Clinic for Haematology and Oncology Clinics of Australia (HOCA), now known as Icon Cancer Centre Wesley, alongside Dr Ian Bunce and Dr Trevor Olsen. Over the last 30 years, the centre has developed into the largest and most progressive provider of haematology and oncology day services in Australia.I consult at Icon Cancer Centre Wesley and am a visiting medical officer at an outreach clinic at Cairns Private Hospital. In line with my clinical experience in clinical haematology and medical oncology, my specialty areas include the management of malignant lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, acute and chronic leukaemia, sarcoma, colorectal cancers, breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer and other malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system. I work closely with radiation oncologists to manage patients with malignant disease requiring concurrent chemo-radiotherapy, these include patients with cancer of the head and neck, oesophagus and rectum. I am an Honorary Adjunct Professor in Medicine at Bond University and serve as a Senior Lecturer of Medicine at the University of Queensland.
