The Esterer family estate winery and vineyard located in Conneaut, Ohio. Markko Vineyard was founded by Paul's father, Arnulf Esterer in 1968 providing high quality estate vintage wines like Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir.

VP in commercial real estate division of Boatmen’s Bancshares Inc. before it merged with NationsBank (now Bank of America). Reported at Bank of America through Little Rock office to St Louis regional headquarters. Provided investment grade, interim construction financing on projects or developments ranging from $2 to $20 million in average loan size.

Moved to Little Rock to be near wife’s family, father had taken ill, and worked for de novo bank owned by the entrepreneur Frank Hickingbotham’s family. Assisted in start-up of bank and commercial and real estate lending departments. Was involved in all phases of the $400 million bank.

Selected as financial analyst for the Bank One Credit Training Program with 60 other MBA and undergraduates.
