Hi, I am a practical and approachable degree qualified engineer with a strong background in turbomachinery aerodynamics related to turbochargers. My day to day responsibilities are currently to advise and lead a team of qualified engineers in aerodynamic design and manufacturing for small, light duty, mid-range and heavy duty compressor and turbines for turbochargers for the automotive and industrial markets.My skill basis looks very theoretical being Ph.D qualified, but I have an extremely strong manufacturing background cultivated by working closely with suppliers although, mainly from a very young age I worked with my father in a tool making firm producing plastic and rubber moulds for the automotive industry.I am a fellow of the institute of mechanical engineers and regularly mentor graduates through the professional development scheme so that they can achieve chartered status.

Progressing from my previous role with Cummins, and retaining my previous responsibilities, I am now acting as a consultant to the business and particularly, the compressor and turbine sub-systems group 50 plus engineers on all major compressor and turbine design projects. The consulting is for aerodynamics and manufacturing considerations and is spread across our 4 technical centres based in China, India, UK and USA. The work is fairly evenly split between radial compressors (impellers, diffusers and covers) and radial turbines (wheels, housing, nozzle and diffusers).I am still leading the standard working practices that the sub-systems engineers need to complete the designs although the work is less hands on and more managing the individual standard work owners for each of the components that make up the compressor and turbine stages.My current work load also includes supervising a Ph.D., considering light duty compressor noise which is based in India.
