Ashdown Park Hotel is a four red star establishment with 126 bedrooms, 16 function suites which includes our own converted chapel and hosts over 60 weddings a year. Whilst in my position I have been required to cover as the Conference & Banqueting Operations Manager for two and a half months. In this time I was directly responsible for 12 weddings as well as the day to day running of the entire department including 8 full time staff and a bank of 20 casual staff. Since I have been in this position my accomplishments include creating an entire Departmental Induction Pack from scratch for each new member of the team and I have also reworked a Standards of Practice Manual for the function bars to ensure that the same standard of service and cleanliness are carried through the entire property. I am also responsible for the payroll of the department and making sure that the wage costs are comparable with the generated income as well as the ordering for the department for many things from linen to new flip charts and to ensure that all of these come within budget.
