Senior Ecologist
CurrentIn his role as Senior Ecologist for the Calgary office, Paul is responsible for overseeing environmental programs (project management) from scoping through senior review, and developing and implementing standard approaches to field surveys and analysis that meet regulatory guidelines and client needs. He is also responsible for hiring subconsultants and field staff, and coordinating field surveys. Paul conducts baseline wildlife assessments for species of management concern for Parks Canada highway infrastructure projects in the mountain national parks in AB (Banff, Jasper) and BC (Yoho, Kootenay, Mt. Revelstoke and Glacier), analyzes data and writes or contributes to Basic Impact Analysis (BIA) reports.Paul was responsible for conducting a preliminary bear hazard assessment of SAGD and mining operations for an operator in the oil sands region in NE AB, and a survey of current human-bear conflict management techniques in North America..
