I perform surveys for the various County departments on an as needed basis, as well as organize and maintain the Public Works survey records.I also oversaw setting up the newly formed Public Works GIS group (mid-2019 to June 2022) to collect and maintain information on the County's infrastructure assets (bridges, culverts, sidewalks, etc.).My biggest accomplishment so far has been to oversee the scanning, making available online, and informing professionals and the public about the 150 years of County Road Engineer surveying records, so that all surveyors and the public can benefit.

I worked about half time (1-4 days a week) for the Cowlitz County Department of Public Works as their Consultant Land Surveyor (this was via a contract through HHPR, where I worked the remainder of the week). In this position, I coordinated with their staff to perform right of way and boundary surveys in Cowlitz County for the Roads Department, the Landfills Department, the various Diking and Drainage Districts, and other County departments, as requested. I also organized and maintained the survey records located at the Public Works Office. One project was to oversee the scanning of approximately 80 years of surveying field books.

I performed surveys (topographic, boundary, right of way resolution, ALTA, legal description writing, etc.) on both sides of the Columbia River for public and private clients.I was also responsible for Autodesk Civil 3D template setup and CAD standards/education for the survey department. As part of these duties, I created a CAD standards manual.

In my last position at WRG (now Cardno), I was in charge of the design department (up to seven office people) and coordination with the field department (up to eight 2 person field crews) to set up and complete surveys (boundary, topographic, ALTA, Subdivision, GPS, etc.) for Oregon and Washington projects. My proudest accomplishment was to help several of our field staff obtain their FS (Fundamentals of Surveying - used to be called LSIT) certificates.

Started out on the field crew (with Tech time during the Tahoe winters). Worked up to Project Surveyor when I got licensed.Worked for local area ski resorts, public agencies, and private land owners to provide topographic mapping, TRPA impervious coverage mapping, boundary resolution, subdivision platting, construction staking, aerial photo control, etc.

Worked as a GPS tech/Party Chief during the summers of 1997 and 1998 on oil and gas exploration projects. Work area from Texas to Wyoming.

Ran an instrument during the summers of 1995 and 1996. Mostly rural cadastral surveys and corner searching.
