A short biog.Ahoy!Having spent my childhood in my Granddad's shed in Liverpool making things out of shizzle, I seamlessly moved on to a carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship and made things out of wood instead.Four years later and all my fingers still intact the urge to develop my creative skills became overwhelming and I took my Northern soul over to Wigan to do a 2 year diploma in Graphic design.You can probably guess where this is going, making skills, graphic skills, creative skills, yes I moved to Bristol to study for a 3D design degree.Bristol being a hub for T.V. and film, the obvious creative career was piracy, I mean art direction and production design. I worked for many years at Aardman Animation designing and art directing on commercials, for the BBC on docudramas and even a two year stint back in Liverpool on series Hollyoaks, art directing and refreshing my scouse accent.Carrying the cross of creativity and the constant desire to conjure up projects, I created a children's TV series with my mate Rik and I pitched it to CiTV, who then went and commissioned 52 x 10 minute episodes, which we had to make in 2014 called 'Bottom Knocker Street' staring Phill Jupitus and I got to put the cherry on the cake of my design career and production designed everything I'd dreamed up.Design, making, projects and a happy crew are the things that float my particular pirate's ship and in 2015 this inclination was spied by top Bristol model making company Amalgam and I started project/account managing for exhibition, display and film and TV. at their central Bristol based model making studio. In 2021 I decided to up anchor and leave Amalgam and sail the seas of the film and television world as a freelancer.With all my flaming white beard and knowledge of design and making, my background in carpentry and piracy, I’m now carving a career as a Construction Manager, working on such shows as I’m a Celebrity, for dynamic companies like Supersets in Catford and production design captain Michael Ralph on Gerinda Chadha's 'Christmas Karma' (Christmas 2025 release)My recent move to Johnny Mann Scenic Ltd between Bristol and Gloucester as a construction manager has consolidated my position amongst some the most talented scenic and construction pirate crews on the seven seas.
