SInce Graduating from University in 2009, I have acquired 4 years Management experience at the Lion Yard Shopping Centre, Cambridge. The role of Customer Support Manager required me to take an active interest in many aspects of Shopping Centre Management, with a primary focus on leading a team of approx 15 Security and cleaning staff. It was my role to assist with the smooth running of the centre, and also included managing recruitment, training, appraisals and Health and Safety to mention a few. The city centre shopping mall attracts over 1 million visitors per month, with approximately 40 Tenants. I have excellent communication, written and listening skills, and demonstrated how to motivate and empower work colleagues to achieve excellent results.

Ramsden Hall is a residential school catering for boys aged 11-16 years, who have been removed from mainstream schooling due to a variety of behavioral and social difficulties.  It was my role to plan and deliver a variety of sports sessions of my choice after the school day had ended. I would be assisted by a colleague, with groups of children consisting of approximately 10 at any given time.  In total, approximately 50 children would board at the school, with whom I would take the role of mentor, coach and teacher.  I was able to use my effective communication skills to deliver sports sessions to children, who as mentioned had a variety of behavioral issues.  I demonstrated my ability to produce and execute fun and informative sports sessions in a safe working environment, whilst maintaining control of a group.  This was a challenging situation to work in, but one that I found rewarding.My involvement was not only limited to sports coaching, I also had a direct involvement in certain children’s well being having been selected and appointed as a key worker.  I would also take an active interest in the child’s home life, building relationships with the child’s parents and looking at trends in behavior.
