Responsible for engineering analysis and design of marine systems. Soft skills include customer relations and development, project budgetng, scheduling, and managing deliverables.

As a member of the Applied Physics Laboratory's Ocean Engineering Department, I am the project manager of a multidisciplinary engineering team researching and designing tidal energy turbines. The role requires guiding the work of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, along with interfacing with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors, to achieve innovative solutions to marine energy problems. I am also the lead mechanical engineer for the Adaptable Monitoring Package, an environmental monitoring system designed to operate in the most energetic places in the ocean.APL-UW is full of challenges; the first day I walked in the door I was handed the job of designing components on an anchoring system for remote sensing systems to operate in tidal environments. From there on out, the job has constantly evolved, from designing remotely operated vehicles to operate around tidal turbines, to remotely deployable wave energy converters, to long-endurance submersible robotics.

As a contractor for Australia's largest private recycler, I assisted with inspections and maintenance during plant outages, performed inventory management, data entry, forklift driving, etc. A jack-of-all trades for the project engineer I was working under.
