I am the Head Chef at The Magpie Cafe in the beautiful seaside town of Whitby, North Yorkshire. I have been at the Magpie since I was 12 years old doing weekend and after school work. I attended Yorkshire Coast College (formally Scarborough Technical College) worked for a short period in the Lake District before joining the Magpie full time in 1994.I specialise predominantly in Fish and shellfish, notably Fish and chips is what The Magpie has grown its success on but I have worked hard with the owners to expand the menu to include more fish and seafood on the menu.I have Co written 2 cookery books (third on its way) and contributed recipes and photos to others.I also currently write a Fish/seafood recipe on a weekly basis for Whitby’s local newspaper ‘The Whitby Gazette’
