As the CIO of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS), the largest state pension fund in Ohio and one of the largest public retirement systems in the U.S., I lead a team of 60 professionals and allocate assets among a diversified set of both public and private global asset classes.With more than 30 years of investment governance and management experience, my success stems from fostering a failure tolerant/collaborative culture, optimally allocating assets to achieve a target return, and driving business objectives to create a highly efficient and cost-effective organization.As a transformational leader, I have rebuilt investment teams into collaborative, innovative and intelligent risk-taking entities focused on producing desired investment results.
