I joined Surrey Police in September 1997 and have experienced many different roles, all of them uniform based during that period.I am currently a Sergeant on the Specialist Neighbourhood Team covering Spelthorne Borough. With primary responsibility for the Town centre and Urban areas of Sunbury on Thames, Ashford and Stanwell, I work with a small team of officers and PCSO's with the focus being on chronic anti Social Behaviour and criminality, utilising the ASB legislation and my experience of working on the Neighbourhood Police Team. I also direct line manage our licensing officer and the 2 Youth Engagement officers for Spelthorne. Their dedicated work and links with licensing teams and the YEO's links to youth services, teams focused on Child Exploitation and Prevent is giving me wider knowledge and experience in other areas of policing and an alternative perspective to youth justice.I work with partners in the borough and have experience working with the BID team for Staines town having previously been a professional member of their board.I supervise the daily management of a team of officers covering all dispatched calls to the police, making fast time decisions on incidents and providing a "golden hour" initial police response to serious incidents taking into account the investigation required. I am also responsible for the team in regards to performance, development and directing the day to day investigations that they make, ensuring victim contact and needs are met, making charging decisions and dealing with complaints.
