I am a pasionate and highly motivated Team Leader and Senior Mill Operator with over 15 year’s experience in the manufacturing industry. In that 15 years I have been heavily involved in the restructure and implementation of a High Performing Teams model using the Alcoa Business System. Within the lean manufacturing process I look after production, safety, environmental and quality management at Alcoa Australia Rolled Products based out of Pt Henry, Victoria, producing flat sheet aluminium with extensive practical experience in all facets of running a highly technical production mill.In my role as Team Leader I work closely with both the production team and the management and maintenance staff to co-ordinate the efficient running of the department, this also includes liaising with other department Team Leaders to ensure the efficient flow of product through the plant. As the lead operator of a crew of 12 personnel, I am responsible for ensuring that all my team members have the knowledge and information they require to operate efficiently and safely to achieve the production targets and produce a quality product for our customers. Ongoing mentoring and coaching of the team in the use of the Alcoa business systems and procedures ensures that we can run as an autonomous team.Within my time as Team leader I have used my learned knowledge of the production processes to be able to move into management roles when they required coverage for various reasons on a temporary basis. I have been recognised for my Performance as a Team Leader, winning several awards at Alcoa’s annual Reward and recognition function for Most outstanding performance as a team leader.I am a highly motivated employee, with a disciplined and dependable work ethic. I work well within a team or on my own.
