Provide Engineering Design Support for ongoing PDS projects. Manage piping spec data, all aspects of reporting, automated drawing creation and custom isometric configurations.

Provide Engineering Design Support for a mixed PDS and CADworx environment including model management, design review, isometric setup and pipe spec development. Leica laser scan data was incorporated into the project environment. Prepared project engineering deliverables as required.

Provide front line PDS and Engineering Design Support for about 20 PDS users. Debug PDS problems, fix corrupted models, assist in modelling piping and equipment and provide training as required.

Seconded to the original Deep Panuke Offshore Gas Project as Project CAD Coordinator (PDMS). Upon cancelation of project returned to home office to provide engineering, design and IT support to ongoing projects. Manage piping spec data for design systems. Projects used PDS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, CADpipe, ProSteel, and Navisworks.

Provide multi-office PDS \ MicroStation \ Intools \ SPPID \ Oracle support for S&W’s ongoing conventional and nuclear power projects.

Employed to configure, support and troubleshoot the 3D CAD effort on a large PDS project (17,000+ ISO's, 600+ models, 80 seats). Positioned directly under PM to co-ordinate the efforts between the various disciplines. Assisted in project setup and configuration on other in-house projects (PDMS).

Employed to configure, support and troubleshoot all aspects of PDS projects from conceptualization to detailed design.

Employed to troubleshoot construction activities. This involved gathering all possible data (design, as-built, survey, etc.) and modelling tasks before their execution in the field. Identified potential problems and provided solutions. Provided construction data prior to slip-forming to verify the integrity of the design and to identify any problems before they could impact on construction. Provided model information to the relevant design and construction departments, including interference reports for redesign, mass property reports to marine operations for stability studies, location reports to surveying for routing and placement. Calculations and construction drawings for custom structure/pipe welds.

Employed with the GBS Design Team - Mechanical Out-Fitting Division to support, utilize, manage and maintain all aspects of Intergraph’s PDS (Plant Design System) and Microstation on VAX, UNIX and PC platforms in order to construct an intelligent 3D computer model.

During this period I had 3 x 4 month work terms in Gulf's Production Department in Calgary and the Stetler Field Office.Developed a computer model of Gulf's Nordegg River operations to forecast gas deliverability to the year 2001. This required that data relating to the reservoir, wellbores, pipelines, field facilities and gas plant be obtained and modelled appropriately. Simulated the effects of proposed fieldwork and provided recommendations to optimise both the time and cost associated with such work. Conducted well analysis and provided recommendations - abandon well or increase production via treatment and/or recompletion. Inspected field facilities and documented required service or maintenance. Prepared the necessary background material and documents required to obtain authorisation for the required work.
