CAE acquired Oxford Aviation Academy in May 2012.Started off as a Ground Instructor on the A320, and eventually promoted to A320 SFI. After 6 months, I became an SFI on the B737NG. Most of the students I instructed were Ab Initio from China with 200 hours total flight time. I also gave instruction to qualified First Officers upgrading to Captain.As Deputy Head of Training, my duties included:Recruiting/ assessing/ training new Instructors. Working closely with all departments and instructors to ensure that all training courses progressed as scheduled. Quality control checks for each simulator. Working closely with Training/Senior Management from various Airlines around the Region to ensure the simulators were up to their Regulatory standards. Working closely with Foreign Aviation Authorities to assess the simulator for training suitability. Assisting the Head Of Training with creating and modifying Course Material and Instructor Training Guides. Deputising for the Head of Training during his absence. Sign off student training records and Course Completion Certificates. I was appointed as Acting Head Of Training for CAE Singapore for 6 months when the Singapore Training Centre was being set up. Designated In House Examiner for conducting Proficiency Checks for all Instructors. Completing Special Projects when assigned by the Head Of Training.Keeping up to date with the latest training procedures/ Best Practices from Airbus and Boeing, and communicating any such changes to all Instructors.
