Helping others takes an enormous toll. I have seen it from both sides. A survivor of a fire on June 22, 1997 that took the life of my Lieutenant, I have dedicated the years since preparing agencies for, and lessening the impact of, these horrible events. As Co-Coordinator of the World Trade Center CISM Support Services, a Peer Support responder to the Worcester Cold Storage disaster, the Newtown school shootings and countless other high impact events, I have the experience and the ability to educate and prepare others.I provide consultation, instruction and support to governmental agencies, emergency response organizations and others, in developing new, as well as re-structuring, Peer Support teams and networks. The services include consulting on Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Line of Duty Death (LODD), team building and development, as well as motivational programs. My audiences generally consist of Emergency Services providers (such as Law Enforcement, Fire Service and EMS), Military Personnel, Mental Health providers, Public Service, School and Hospital-based personnel as well as Clergy or faith-based providers. My dedication to helping others comes directly from the help that I have received from others in the past. As the subject of the ground breaking 1974 book "Don't Feel Sorry for Paul," by Bernard Wolf, I was afforded the support, care and guidance to lead a life beyond description.
