• Lead the organisations institutional funding team to secure funding for country offices in Cambodia, Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea.• Led a regional climate funding analysis project researching the barriers for civil society organisations to access climate finance for WASH projects. Published six briefs in total and presented the findings at Brisbane WASH Futures Conference.• Successful proposals from DFAT, AWP, ACIAR, UNICEF, VF and many others (over 10 million AUD).• Positioned the organisation within several large funding contracts (over 15 million USD) as key consortia members and established key new partnerships.• Have developed strategies for each country and key areas such as for engagement with the apparel sector.

• Established the climate business development approach for the organisation building an understanding of relevant climate donors and developing partnerships with other key organisations.• Led the fundraising role for WaterAid’s Water and Climate Financing Initiative to support an increase in WASH climate adaptation funding;• Acted as COVID-19 funding coordinator for WaterAid UK during summer 2020. Managed a basket fund of unrestricted income and liaised with all members on their key donors and funding opportunities, the total raised was over £10 million in 6 months;• Developed a Global Capacity Statement on WaterAid’s Climate Resilience Programming and pro-duced numerous fundraising documents on other technical areas of WaterAid’s programming;• Secured the first UK Government IMDP contract for the organisation negotiating successfully a significant role within a 9 million GBP climate and water project in Ethiopia.• Developed resources and mentored country and regional staff to strengthen business development at all levels of the organisation.

Developing opportunities for new humanitarian funding pipelines within the humanitarian team in Tearfund and building capacity within the organisation on risk, insurance and anticipatory programming. Supporting country programmes to engage with in-country pooled sources of funding. Liaising with private sector to create links for funding and technical support.

Liaising with the Scottish Government to manage the full portfolio of grants received from them and ensuring compliance and overall high quality of the projects in Pakistan, Rwanda and Malawi.Representing Tearfund at ministerial meetings as well as meeting with other Scotland based civil society organisations to determine areas of collaboration and possibilities of joint applications for future grants.

Provide technical and managerial advice to the Malawi country team ensuring compliance for the Scottish Government funding specifically on financial, monitoring and project implementation in both WASH and Livelihoods sectors.The first project was on Climate Justice and included aspects of Environmental and WASH interventions particularly focusing on building resilience amongst community members to adapt to climate change and be prepared for natural disaster events such as flooding.The second project improved livelihood capabilities of project participants through training on conservation agriculture and Tearfund's self-help group modality.

I was responsible for the implementation of Concern's emergency WASH projects in Northern Lebanon. Providing technical and managerial support for a number of UN funded programme predominately on a large UNICEF PCA which ensured provision of WASH services to 10,000 refugees in Akkar District as well as several large infrastructure projects for the Lebanese host population. These included water supply, sewerage and flood mitigation undertaken as part of wider disaster risk reduction work in the district.On a day to day basis I managed 14 staff for the projects and also provided technical guidance to other teams for any engineering and WASH knowledge. I regularly represented the organisation at district and national level and presented on different aspects of our project to further learning in the country on WASH interventions.

Seconded to the Ebola response to support the WASH programmes and Construction management activities in Sierra Leone, including providing WASH services to Ebola treatment and holding centres and managing contractors working on the Western Area cemeteries infrastructure. I also supported the Urban WASH Consortium funded by DFID as their WASH technical advisor in the absence of anyone in the role.Additionally I presented on WASH learning at national level through the Adam Smith International network expounding on the challenges in terms of safe and dignified burials and cemetery management and providing WASH adequate services during the Ebola crisis.

I started a two year entry-level traineeship with Concern to enable me to learn the management skills required to manage development programmes specifically in water and sanitation (WASH) but also comprising generally of all engineering aspects. The programme was divided into 3 parts with time spent in the head office alongside the advisors and then in two separate country offices.Dublin (Oct 12 – Dec 12)For the first three months I worked in the head office aiding with the development of country proposals and minimum standards for project components such as monitoring and evaluating. I also attended training courses to prepare for my time overseas in areas such as security, proposal writing and budgeting.Sierra Leone (Jan 13 – Oct 13)I was based in Freetown for my first overseas placement where I worked as part of the Urban WASH Consortium in the city a DFID funded programme involving five INGOs working in 49 city sections throughout Freetown and the Western Area of Sierra Leone reaching 681,770 people. I worked alongside the programme manager supporting her with budget and forecasting, training and hiring of staff, meeting with the other consortium agencies and the donor, writing reports and strategies and aiding with construction aspects. I was involved in surveying and assessments as well as developing designs as part of the construction work and supervised some of the ongoing site work.Tanzania (Nov 13 – Aug 14)My second placement was in Tanzania, I worked with the Western District Zonal Manager in Ngara District on a EU and charity: water programme. Specifically I worked with water user groups (WUGs) to enable them to sustainably manage water points, I also assessed water treatment options in households and schools to recommend the most suitable method for beneficiaries.

Management of Concern's WASH infrastructure in Bentiu POCs and the focal person for the WASH cluster in Unity State. I was responsible for reporting daily the WASH situation in the camps and coordinate the WASH partners for a uniform approach across each camp. I developed water strategies to increase the availability and supported with the design of semi-permanent latrines.

I joined Atkins after graduating from university and started on the graduate trainee scheme to aid me to attain my professional qualification from the Institution of Civil Engineers. I am involved in the energy sector, predominately the oil and gas work in the North Sea where Atkins provide technical expertise in assessing structural assessment for the installation, modification and decommission of oilrigs. I have been involved in several projects where I have had to use different software packages to model the structures and then issue technical notes with recommendations to the client with suggested remedial work.

I was selected for a placement with the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) in conjunction with the British Council. The project concerned the finishing works of the Jordan Gate Project (the first two skyscrapers to be constructed in Jordan at a cost of around £200 million). I was based on the site working for the contractor and involved primarily with the quality control of the works.
