At High Point University I finished with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and minor in Mathematics. In addition to the required courses for my degree, I also took courses in computer science covering topics such as data structures, numerical methods, information security, and artificial intelligence. The courses were taught in a variety of popular languages including C, C++, and Python.I continued my education at Penn State University, finishing with a Masters of Science in Acoustics. During my time in the Acoustics program I took courses in computational acoustics, nonlinear acoustics, signal processing, transducer design and analysis, and acoustics in solids and fluids. Alongside my coursework I also held a role as a graduate research assistant in the SIMBA lab lead by Dr. Yun Jing, working to accelerate image reconstruction algorithms for Photoacoustic imaging. My thesis covered the improvements made by implementing efficient back-projection algorithms on the GPU.
