I am a Civil Engineer, Chartered with the ICE, and have worked for Atkins since 2009, following graduation from the University of Warwick.I am Currently CEM for the NW&C Plain Line Track Renewals undertaken by Central Rail Systems Alliance-. Its a fast paced scheme delivering over 150 jobs a year. In this role, I have transformed the delivery process from a rushed 'just in time' delivery to an efficient 'production line' of well integrated designs. I am currently working closely with the delivery and assurance teams to further refine the process's within the alliance.I have previously worked on a variety of projects within the former Rail Solutions and Transportation teams. My key projects include assessment work for London Underground Structural Assessments (Metronet), the design of highway over rail bridges to Eurocode for Norton Bridge / Stafford Area Improvements, and project management for Chiltern Mainline Platform Extensions which won best small project at the Atkins Rail Awards 2014. I was seconded to CBJV as a site engineer for East West Rail Phase 1. On EWR Phase 2 I acted under multiple roles and a general problem solver, either acting as Design Manager for urgent adhoc packages, or working with other teams to streamline their design processes. The greatest area of my influence way streamlining the multiple document control processed (involving Projectwise and eB) into an east to understand 'design' crib sheet. This drastically reduced the time/frustration/complexity of issuing and suuring documents within the alliance.
