Within my current role I provide customer support both on the technical desk as well as customer services, within this role I am also the go to person if tills do not work or someone needs assistance with anything system or process related given my experience within the company. I thoroughly enjoy working within the technical department as it allows me to stay current with the latest tech as well as challenging me to provide solutions to customers technical related problems. I also enjoy working on the customer service desk as it means I can go the extra mile and provide world class customer service by thinking outside of the box to get the right solution for the customer.

I was offered this role by a store manager from the group who approached me as he felt I was an ideal candidate to look after the store and develop the staff he had there. During my time working for game I would travel from my home in the New Forest to the Guildford store on a daily basis, Guildford being one of the top performing stores in the group. During my time in Game I would ensure that the store would consistently achieve all targets set, and kept a good relation with some off the leading brands e.g. E.A. and Lionhead studios as they were in close proximity to the store. I was also put forward for store manager training with a view to run a store within the Southampton area. At the time I worked for game the company were at risk of going into administration and so I decided to end my career with the group and move back to a company with a stronger presence on the market and better job security.

I was approached by one of my previous managers for this company when Dixons Retail decided to develop the Hedge End Currys and PC World stores into the Currys Megastore it is today. It was explained to me that the store was being re-developed in order to compete with one of the company’s biggest competitors Best Buy when they opened in the UK. This store was to be world class and needed someone to manage a small team of people out-of-hours to re-merchandise the store and ensure everything was in place ready to trade each morning.

As a self-defence coach I trained in Go-Kan-Ryu Karate and reached the level of orange tag within the six months I worked with the company. During this role I would have to train at least 3 times a week in karate and the rest of the time involved door to door sales. This role was commission based and often required working 7 days a week as I was often the only driver in the group. Sadly, the earning potential was not enough for me to continue within this role.
