About Paul Ocampo

Paul Ocampo is the Director of Development at the Asian Law Caucus. At the Asian Law Caucus, he has demonstrated critical leadership in development and nonprofit administration to support the mission and sustainability of the organization. He is also currently a board member of Kearny Street Workshop, the nation's first Asian American multi-disciplinary arts organization; co-chair of the AAPIP SF Chapter steering committee; and member of Lacuna Giving Circle, a philanthropic circle he co-founded with other young AAPI professionals in partnership with AAPIP and Tides Foundation. He participated in the inaugural cohort of Rockwood Leadership Institute's Resource Leaders Fellowship and was a former Board member of Association of Fundraising Professionals - Golden Gate chapter. Paul earned a B.A. in English at U.C. Berkeley, an M.A. in Asian American Studies at UCLA, and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing at Arizona State University. He taught English in Korea for a season in 2004, and joined the nonprofit open-access publisher Public Library of Science, founded by Nobel laureate Harold Varmus, from 2004-2006. He assisted Maxine Hong Kingston in editing an anthology of writings by veterans titled Veterans of War, Veterans of Peace, which includes his short story “Butterfly.” Published in Lodestar Quarterly, The New Engagement, Walang Hiya, he was fiction editor for Hayden’s Ferry Review.
