The focus is to examine the financial activities of businesses to determine tax compliance for multiple tax schedules. Our focus is to investigate tax compliance issues with noncompliance taxpayers and to communicate comprehensive information on matters of a complex nature. These examinations involve the interpretation and application of tax laws, accounting procedures, direct and indirect methods of audit, and investigative problems of substantial variety and complexity. Field Audits are conducted primarily at the taxpayer's location, inside or outside of North Carolina, or the taxpayer's representative's business location. Sometimes limited overnight travel or travel outside North Carolina.
