Offshore Marine Contractors (OMC) offers a variety of Marine services to the offshore and maritime industries from our UK offices in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth and our office in the Netherlands.Originally formed in 1985 the company changed its name to OMC in 1992 following a number of mergers. Some of our present senior personnel have been active in the company since its inception. OMC’s strength lies within its in-house team of Master Mariners who are fully conversant with the technical and operational skills required in today’s offshore environment.The Qualifications and experience of our Mariners coupled with the complementary skills of our offshore broking staff enables OMC to offer the wide range of integrated services which centres around the movement of Mobile Drilling Units, Offshore transportation and installation in general.

Independent Marine Consultant / Rig Mover

Requested by the Director to return to InterMoor to take up the position as Marine Manager.My duties include but are nor limited to;The day to day running of the Marine DepartmentAssisting the accounts department with monthly forecastsPlacement of the correct people on offshore operationsTraining the younger members of the marine teamEnsuring that all Marine Procedures are correct and approving them prior to issue.Assisting in business development where I canIn addition to the above I assist where possible with all tasks previously performed with OMC and InterMoor.

areas of work have been the following;- The writing of Marine Procedures for rig moves.- Quality assurance of documentation and procedures.- The writing of Technical Notes at the request of clients.- Accident / Incident investigation as required with root cause analysis.- Placement of personnel with the correct skills on numerous offshore marine related tasks.- Tow Master on various rig moves (mainly jack up oil rigs with some Semi-Submersible work)- Day to day running of the Aberdeen office as required.- Advising on the creation of quotes and Tenders for various clients as required.- Engaging with potential new clients to attract new business.- Liasing with existing clients to ensure they are satisfied with the levels of service being supplied.

Started with Trident Offshore Ltd in March 2009 as a Marine Superintendent involved in all Marine Consultancy required within the offshore industry. In may 2009 Trident became InterMoor Marine Services Ltd following its acquisition by Acteon group where my role was changed to project manager. In September 2010 was promoted to Senior Marine Superintendent. My areas of work involved the following;- The writing of Marine Procedures for rig moves.- The writing of heading control procedures for FPSO's for numerous tasks ranging from heading control so that Dive work can be carried out to installation.- Carried out Applications for Consent to Locate as required by the government including the hire of third parties to carry out the required studies.- Advised clients with the chartering of the vessels to carry out the task.- Attended numerous rig moves as Marine Representative (mainly Semi-Submersible).- Budgeting each individual task as required to ensure that the initial quote is being adhered to.- Attended many rig move meetings with many of the Oil Majors in Aberdeen including Maersk Oil, Talisman, Nexen, Chevron, ExxonMobil and Apache- Was the main contract holder for some of the largest clients held and was the main focal point for them.- Writing and amending/updating numerous sets of Marine Operations Manuals for clients and advising in the implementation of these documents.- Given holiday cover for numerous operators Marine Superintendents such as Maersk Oil and Chevron. My tasks during these periods involved the following; - Assessing and choosing the correct vessels for rig moves. - Meeting with the Marine Technical Authority to decide on off take tankers that are to be utilised in the field. - Discussing with the rig owners the tanker drift rate when a rig was in the field for peace of mind.

Transferred from North sea fleet to Singapore fleet when I was given study leave for my Chief Mates certificate. My areas of work involved the following;As 2nd OfficerAssisting the Chief Mate and Master as required.Ensuring that all nautical charts and publications were up to date and correct.Checking and maintaining the safety equipment as required.Taking charge of the deck as required whilst carrying out Anchor Handling duties.As Chief OfficerEnsuring that the 2nd officer is carrying out the above tasks correctly.In charge of the routine and planned preventative maintenance as required.Driving the vessels on a 6 hour on 6 hour off rotation with the Master during cargo work and Anchor Handling operations.Maintaining and using the DP whilst alongside the rig for prolonged times. Offshore Marine Contractors.During my time with Swire Pacific Offshore I have been doing some work with Offshore Marine consultants as an assistant Tow Master during my leave. This work has been involved with overseeing Jack up and Semi Submersible rig moves.

Whilst working for SPO (North Sea) my areas of work involved the following;General 2nd Officer duties.Static tow of export tankersDP operator for ROV operations using various reference systems including ROV follow.

Whilst working for Tidewater as Cadet I mainly worked on Supply vessels in the North Sea.
