I am an Associate Professor of Psychology the Faculty of Science at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada. I am a behavioural neuropharmacologist and psychopharmacologist. My research uses a combination of behavioural and immunohistochemical techniques to examine how the brain’s endocannabinoid system is involved in normal behaviour (e.g., learning, memory, feeding, locomotion), pathological behaviour (e.g., addiction), as well as how cannabinoids and non-cannabinoid drugs interact to alter behaviour and brain activity.I received my Master’s and PhD in Psychology from Queen’s University. Prior to joining Wilfrid Laurier University, I worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Sydney, Australia, and then served as a faculty member at the University of New England, Australia. After spending nearly a decade training and teaching overseas, I returned to Canada 2006 to join the Faculty of Science at Wilfrid Laurier University. I am a full-time tenured faculty member and teach mostly behavioural neuroscience courses in the Department of Psychology.
