Paul Martin, Founder and Principal Consultant at Aqua Insight Inc., has 25 years of experience specializing in the characterization and assessment of hydrogeologic systems to understand groundwater flow and contaminant transport. Having successfully completed several hundred hydrogeologic investigations, he has gained a wealth of experience in the practical application of data collection and analysis tools to achieve advanced site characterization and assessment. Recognizing the role of numerical models as decision making tools, he has developed expertise in their application, including the incorporation of detailed hydrogeologic structure, and uncertainty quantification.. Paul has worked on consulting modelling projects for: water resources definition and characterization, surface and groundwater hydraulics and hydrology, development and climate change impact assessment, environmental site assessments, contaminant remediation system design, mining water supply and waste management, municipal landfills, and impact evaluation of agricultural activities. Paul enjoys sharing his experience with colleagues. He annually lectures as part of the University of Waterloo Field School (1998-present) and presents at many conferences. He values group decision-making and has participated in development talks as part of the International Joint Commission and as part of the Middle-East Peace Talks (Water Issues meeting) in Isreal (1997).
